Having sciatica nerve pain due to slipped disc and doctor suggest surgery. At that time, i was at the bow posture which i cant even walk or sit properly but after 6 to 8 times of my physiotherapy with Core Concepts, i ended up able to stand straight. Really thanks to my therapist Samuel and Annabelle! Never regret to come Tampines branch!

It was a great experience for me. Isaac was very helpful and told me what exactly I need to do to get better. His patience for a stubborn client/patient like me is something I will applaud 🙈 Lenia also helped me a bit, she didn’t need to but she still taught me an exercise that I forgot to do. That specific exercise really helped me a lot to get better. Lastly, hands off to Daisy. Words are not enough to express how great she was!The front desk people are also very friendly, polite, and easy to have conversation with.Defo 100% recommended.

Tore my ACL twice and had the pleasure of coming to Core Concepts for both rehabilitations. The physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists were extremely well versed and it was comforting to know that they knew the ins and outs of my injury and my path to recovery. While upholding a professional rapport, the staff, Sufian, Lynn and Joelina in particular, managed to make the atmosphere light and cheery, making the recovery process an enjoyable one. Another physiotherapist in particular, Sarita, went out of her way to assist me even though i was not her client, helping to lighten the extreme discomfort i was feeling at the time. Highly reccomend to anyone looking for reliable, professional physiotherapists who can make your rehab journey an enjoyable one!

Gonna be a long review! I had slipped disc surgery late Sept last year and was referred to Core Concepts for physiotherapy. It’s been a full year now and I’m really glad that this is the place accompanying me through this entire recovery journey.Grace is my main physiotherapist and I really want to give a big shout-out to her for all the great advice and exercises given. Sylvia sees me to ensure my recovery is on the right track. Joanna is always so warm and welcoming at the front desk and ever so encouraging with her words. From being too weak to walk without support to being able to run for the bus now, it’s all possible thanks to all of them!Recovery is also not all just about the physical aspect, it’s as important to pay attention to the emotional aspect too. Grace understands and relates really well to my post-surgery/road-to-recovery feelings and I really think that’s what ultimately makes me feel I’m in the best hands I can have here.Thank you Core Concepts! 💪🏼💜

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Ankle and Foot Pain

There are various degrees to an ankle sprain. Most ankle sprains are simple and can heal on their own with care.

If you have a simple ankle sprain that feels sore after falling or landing on your foot wrongly; simply perform R.I.C.E. However, if your ankle pain is so severe that you are unable to place weight on your ankle or if it is swollen and does not go away in a couple of days.

There are certain methods to lower your risk of ankle sprains – if you take part in sports or enjoy running, make sure you warm up before exercising.

This will reduce your risk of injuries greatly. Also; be sure to wear shoes with good support for the activities that you are using them for. Shoes with good support will help to absorb the shock of high impact sports such as running.

One can also make the choice to reduce the frequency of high impact sports and participate in lower impact sports like swimming instead.

Flat feet in themselves do not require treatment. Treatment is only necessary if you are experiencing pain in your foot.

Our physiotherapists will firstly assess your foot to determine the cause of the pain and determine the most suitable treatment plan to resolve it.

Treatment methods could range from manual therapy, exercise therapy or custom orthotics.

Yes, it is best to see a physiotherapist when an ankle sprain occurs.

If you do not treat the injury, you will be more prone to repeated ankle sprains, leading to further pain and disability.

There are 4 ways in which ankle sprains can be treated effectively;

  • Restoring good single leg balance
  • Pain management – Rest, ice, compression, elevation, advice regarding anti-inflammatory medication
  • Restoring full movement of the ankle joint
  • Restoring full strength of ankle joint

Achieving each of these will be done by a variety of manual treatments, stretching and strengthening exercises

Your physiotherapist will discuss your goals, time frames and training schedules with you to optimise you for a complete return to sports, work and daily activities.
