Core Concept's physiotherapists are all formally qualified with significant experience in rehabilitation therapy and injury management at leading medical institutions.
Physiotherapy studies is a graduate-level 4-year qualification with most of Core Concept's physiotherapists having further post-graduate Master's level qualification from leading Australian Universities such as University of Melbourne and University of South Australia.
Sylvia Ho
Sylvia graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia with a Bachelor of Applied Science (physiotherapy) in 1995. Thereafter, she spent
4 years in Sydney and Singapore in both private and public hospitals. Afterwhich, to further her knowledge in backs and necks therapy,
she pursued a Master in physiotherapy, specialising in manipulative therapy from University of Melbourne, Australia. She has
since worked in private practices and hospital in both Melbourne and Singapore (Mount Elizabeth Hospital) with over 12 years of experience in total.
Sylvia's current interests are to treat and reduce recurrence of back and neck pain through core stability exercises and to improve sports performance through sport specific exercises. She remains actively involved in educational talks to organisations such as JP Morgan, Ministry of Finance, clubs and fitness centres and is a strong champion of Core Stability.
Sylvia is also a specialist advisor to MyHealthScanner, the region's first on-line real-time health screening tool for 27 major conditions
Calvin Sim
Calvin graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from the University of Sydney in 2003 and went on to complete his Masters in Manual Therapy from the University of Western Australia in 2006. His experience has been a lot with sports, working in Alexandra Sports Medicine Clinic, covering the National Football Academy Under-18 team and the National Team and also been involved in providing physiotherapy coverage for many international sporting events.
His interest is in prevention and management of back pain and sports related injuries. With being a former competitive athlete himself, he believes a lot in proper management of injuries and importance of sports specific rehabilitation to get a person back to sports.
Moobusshera Hatim
Moobusshera has a Post Graduate qualification in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. Over the years she has had a wide exposure in working with several musculoskeletal conditions and sport injuries.
She believes that movement is the crux of life and helps in the well being of the body and the mind. She is passionate about physiotherapy and sees it as an extension of herself. In understanding their problems and achieving their goals she works with her patients as a team. Her current interest areas are neck, pelvic girdle and myofascial conditions.
Cheryl Ng
Cheryl graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from the University of Sydney in 2004 and completed her Master in Manipulative
Therapy from the Curtin University of Technology, Australia in 2006.
Prior to joining Core Concepts, Cheryl worked at various hospitals, including Mount Alvernia Hospital. She is experienced in out-patient care and specific post-operative rehabilitation programmes for sports injuries including ACLR, and other orthopaedic conditions such as total hip and knee replacements. She has a keen interest in lumbo-pelvic dysfunctions and women's health
Shiek Abdullah
Shiek has a Masters in Manual Therapy from the University of Western Australia. He has been treating musculoskeletal and sports related injuries since 2002. Prior to joining Core Concepts, he worked at Ang Mo Kio Hospital and Alexandra Hospital's Sports Medicine Centre. He provided physiotherapy coverage for the Singapore's National Football Academy.
His area of interest lies in the treatment of musculoskeletal related injuries, especially neck and back disorders. Shiek has been active in teaching and giving talks to healthcare professionals, members of the public and students.
Cindy Tan
Cindy Tan has a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from University of Sydney. She started her work as a physiotherapist in
Alexandra Hospital and later at Jurong Medical Centre where she spearheaded the physiotherapy department.
Her interests are in the treatment of sports injuries, as well as back and neck pain. She has worked closely with athletes from the Singapore Sports School, and has provided physiotherapy coverage for local rugby teams and for the Hong Kong Under-18 soccer team. She enjoys her work tremendously and aims to help her clients recover faster and get back to enjoying life to the fullest.
Chng Chye Tuan
Chye Tuan graduated from The University of South Australia with a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy. His past work experience includes Singapore General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital's sports clinic as well as the Football Association of Singapore, covering for the National Youth teams.
An avid sports person himself, his interest lies in the management and prevention of sports injuries. Other than his passion for sports, Chye Tuan thrives on the satisfaction brought about by the positive impact of physiotherapy on people's quality of life.
Chew Pui Wan
Pui Wan graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Health
Science (Physiotherapy) degree. Since 2000, She has experience working in both private hospitals and private practices and
has gained extensive expertise in treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
Her specialist interest lies in treating and preventing spinal pain and sports injuries. Being a physiotherapist she strongly believes in getting proper health management for oneself to achieve the best possible quality of life.
Christina "Chris" Neo
Christina has an Honours Degree in
Physiotherapy from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. She worked at Singapore General Hospital for 4 years
and gained extensive experience especially in the area sports physiotherapy. She has since freelanced in other hospitals
and clinics as well as at the Sports Council.
Chris enjoys her work tremendously and gains much satisfaction from seeing patients improve and recover. She strongly advocates core stability training for individuals with chronic back and neck pain. An avid sports and outdoors person herself, Chris believes in healthy living as well as maximising one's own potential.
