Core Fundamentals
Core Fundamentals is an introductory foundation programme to core-stability. It is a structured training programme consisting of 6 supervised class sessions and re-assessment session at the end. Each class session is about 1 hour for a more comprehensive workout.
The 6 classes are progressive where each class builds upon the strength and
control developed in the preceding class.
Given the general poor control and strength of core muscles when first introduced to core stability training, the classes are structured to first isolate the core muscles and build body awareness before progressing to increasingly more challenging exercises.
Clients intending to start on the Core Fundamental programme will have undergo an initial assessment for us to better understand your condition to enable us to better plan and manage your class sessions.
If you are introduced to core stability exercises that are too challenging before adequate control and awareness is obtained, non-core muscles such as your rectus abdominus are often recruited to help achieve stability. This defeats the purpose of the exercises to strengthen your core muscles. The exhibit on the left outlines the programme in greater detail.
The assessment session, held after the 6th class session, will be conducted by qualified physiotherapists. These assessments help your trainers to better supervise your training during the class sessions and also to help you set your goals and track your achievements.
After satisfactorily completing Core Fundamentals, you may progress to the Core Works program.
